Editorial Policy

Calculator Jungle is committed to accuracy, transparency, and independence. This page describes the standards we follow when building calculators, writing guides, and updating content.

    1Purpose & Scope

This Editorial Policy explains how Calculator Jungle creates, reviews, and maintains the calculators, guides, and blog content on this website. It applies to every tool and article we publish. Our goal is simple: give users accurate, easy-to-understand, and genuinely useful information they can trust.

    2How We Develop Calculators

Every calculator starts with a real user need — for example, calculating Zakat correctly, estimating a mortgage payment, or checking BMI for a South Asian body frame. Our process: - Research widely accepted formulas, official thresholds, and local rules (such as FBR tax slabs or current Nisab values). - Build the tool in code with clear variable names and unit tests where possible. - Compare outputs against reference calculators, spreadsheets, and official sources before publication. - Document the formula and assumptions directly on the calculator page so users understand how the number is produced.

    3Formula Verification

We verify formulas against authoritative sources before a calculator goes live. Examples include: - World Health Organization (WHO) and CDC references for health tools. - Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) publications for Pakistan tax calculations. - Islamic scholarship consensus and recognized Zakat thresholds for religious tools. - Standard financial formulas for loans, interest, mortgages, and ROI. When multiple calculation methods exist, we choose the most widely accepted standard and explain any variations on the tool page.

    4Content Updates & Freshness

Financial, tax, and health figures change over time. We review high-priority calculators at least quarterly and update them when: - Official thresholds or tax slabs change. - A bug or inaccuracy is reported and confirmed. - New local context becomes relevant to our users (for example, fuel price changes in Pakistan). Each updated page shows a "Last updated" date in its disclaimer area so users can judge the freshness of the information.

    5Error Reporting & Corrections

We welcome corrections. If you spot an incorrect formula, outdated figure, or confusing explanation, please contact us through our Contact page or by copying the email address shown on any calculator page. When a verified error is found, we: - Fix the calculation or wording promptly. - Update the "Last updated" date on the affected page. - Note significant corrections in the page content if they materially affect results.

    6Editorial Independence

Calculator Jungle does not accept payment to promote specific calculators, products, or results. Our tools and content are independent of advertisers and sponsors. We display advertisements through Google AdSense to support the site, but ad placements do not influence: - Which calculators we build. - How formulas are calculated. - What results we display. - Which tools we recommend in related links.
