    Eye Break Timer

A simple, calming timer that helps you follow the doctor-recommended 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes of focused screen work, take a 20-second break and look at something at least 20 feet away. We'll ding gently when it's time.

Stay focused. We'll ding when it's time for a 20-second eye break.

    How it works

    • The timer starts a 20-minute focus countdown. The green ring slowly empties as time passes.
    • When it reaches zero, you'll hear a soft ding and see a notification reminding you to look 20 feet away.
    • A 20-second break timer (amber) starts automatically. When it ends, the focus timer resets.
    • The timer keeps running even if you refresh the page — your progress is saved locally.

    Why the 20-20-20 rule?

Staring at a screen locks the tiny ciliary muscles inside your eyes in one position for hours, leading to fatigue, dry eyes, and headaches. Looking at something far away every 20 minutes lets those muscles fully relax — it's the visual equivalent of putting down a dumbbell.
