💡 How date math actually works

Under the hood, dates are stored as a single count of days from a reference point, so 'difference' is really just subtraction — leap years, 28-day Februaries, and 31-day months are handled automatically. That's why 'add 90 days' can land on a different month length than you'd guess by counting weeks (13 weeks = 91 days, not 90).

Common uses: visa validity (a 30-day permit issued March 15 expires April 13, not April 15), notice periods, invoice due dates, project sprints, and pregnancy weeks. Example: a 180-day contract signed on 10 January 2026 runs until 9 July 2026 — this tool gives you the exact date instead of a rough month estimate.
